Andrea Kozlowski studied Management & Energy Engineering at the Leipzig University of Applied Sciences, followed by a Master’s degree in Nuclear Application at the FH Aachen – University of Applied Sciences. Currently, she is obtaining her PhD in Civil & Environmental Engineering at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, researching alternative grout formulations for the cementation of low-level waste. During her studies, she went abroad to Lithuania, Italy, & Switzerland, & also worked in various nuclear companies. Since 2019, she is part of the German Nuclear Society Young Generation as a board member & representing Germany in the ENS YGN.

Gillian Power is a Medical Physics Expert, working in BreastCheck, the Irish National Breast Screening Programme.  She graduated with a primary degree in engineering from University College Dublin in 2001. From there, she worked as a trainee physicist in a major university teaching hospital, in Dublin, while undertaking a Master’s Programme in Medical Physics. Gillian was awarded a Master’s Degree from Trinity College, Dublin in 2003. Once qualified, she took a position as a basic grade physicist in a large Dublin hospital, encountering a wide range of fields including Diagnostic Radiology, Imaging & PACS, Nuclear Medicine, Radiation Protection, Non-Ionising Radiation and Magnetic Resonance.  She has held the position of senior physicist in BreastCheck, for the past 15 years. During this period the organisation has undergone radical change. Gillian has been instrumental in transforming BreastCheck from an analogue mammography service in the east of the country to becoming the first fully digital national breast screening programme in the world.  In more recent years Gillian has been pivotal in incorporating Digital Breast Tomosynthesis to the suite of BreastCheck Imaging tools.

Dr. Lisanne Van Puyvelde did her studies Physics and Astronomy at Ghent University from 2005 until 2010. She further holds a PhD in Physics and a postgraduate degree in Teaching. She has experience in teaching mathematics and physics in secondary school. She is working as a scientific collaborator at the SCK CEN Academy for Nuclear Science and Technology since August 2016.
